DESCRIPTION (ENG)

THE DESIGN AIM TO MAXIMIZE THE POTENTIAL OF THE M+ PAVILION AS A COMPLEMENTARY COUNTERPART TO THE MAIN MUSEUM, TO FILL THE ROLE OF PROVIDING INFORMAL ART-ENCULTURATION SPACE WHERE PEOPLE SOCIALIZE AND BE EN-CULTURED, THEREBY COMPLETING THE CIRCLE OF TOTAL ART EXPERIENCE

THE BUILDING TAKES REFERENCE FROM THE HK STREET, THE MOST COMMON DAILY SOCIAL SPACE IN THE CITY. BY INJECTING THIS FAMILIAR URBAN-SCALED EXPERIENCE INTO A BUILDING SCALE, THE PAVILION IS DISSOLVED AND BECOME MUCH MORE ENGAGED TO THE EN-ROUTE EXPERIENCE, WHEN CITIZENS PASSES BETWEEN NEIGHBORING PROMENADE, THE PARKS AREA AND THE URBAN AREA ON THE OTHER SIDE.

THE PAVILION AIMS TO INTEGRATE AN OPEN & WELCOMING INFORMAL ATMOSPHERE TO ITS INDOORS EXHIBITION SPACE BY MEANS OF DISSOLVING ITS BOUNDARIES, DIFFUSING & SPILLING OUT THE ART ACTIVITIES FROM THE INDOORS ONTO A CENTRAL OUTDOOR ART STREET AS ITS CORE AND ALSO ONTO THE NEIGHBORING NATURAL ENVIRONMENT: THE GREEN GRASS ON THE PARK, THE EMERALD VICTORIA HARBOR RIGHT NEXT TO THE PROMENADE AND THE BLUE SKY ABOVE.
